Good Evening! I'm James Roth and I have a '31 Roadster. My Burtz Block just arrived. Right now I'm still in the research phase trying to decide on my parts purchases. I'm very open to suggestions and lessons learned. I read all of the "New Model A Builders Guide". I think it left me with more questions than I started with.
I intend to use my model A regularly for car shows and Ice Cream nights with the grandchildren but would certainly not rule out a long touring ride. Where is the best place to ask questions about specific parts?
Reading your message, the BURTZ block, BURTZ head, BURTZ cam shaft and BURTZ flywheel with a Weber carburetor will make you a fantastic touring car. I can provide the oil pump, pistons with rings and oil filter bracket. Sammy of Arizona Model A can provide all the other parts you need to complete your build.
I am new to this site but interested in the Burtz blocks. I purchased 3 -probably out of the first batch. Since then other products have become available. I have most of the necessary parts cleaned and ready for assembly. Hoping to have 2 running for the MAFCA NWRG Meet in September on Victoria BC.
Hi, I’m Don Gibbard and I am finishing engine #459. I live in the Pacific Northwest. I can’t remember if I need to plug the hole at the bottom of the valve cover surface at the oil pump driver assembly. It is covered by the valve cover gasket. Thanks
I'm Jim Delaney in Warrenton, VA. Am re-entering the Model A world after about 70 years-my first car was a '30 coupe. Having a Burtz engine built by Model A Garage (I'm not equiped and skills far out of date). Trying to learn as much as I can while awaiting project completion.
Jim, feel free to ask questions, we will do our best to answer them. The BURTZ is a very good choice for your Model A. It will give you the dependability of a modern engine.
Don Halvorson, Thousand Oaks, Ca. Stopped by for Taco Tuesday today. Checking up on the oil pump progress and reviewed the machining fixture for the oil filter bracket assembly. Amazing work is being done by George on this project!! Anxious to get my oil pump and filter bracket! A full house in the shop today!! Thanks Leonard!!
